About the role
The comparison service is the core of Afara. It takes a story wireframe and a code wireframe, records how they line up, and keeps every finding and every decision people make on it, across runs, for years. You’ll own its data model, its API and its performance as customers move from one repository to hundreds.
What you’ll do
- Design and evolve the comparisons, divergences and decisions APIs used by the CLI and dashboard
- Keep finding identity stable across runs, so an accepted finding stays accepted
- Build the GitHub, Linear and Jira sync that keeps tickets and branches current
- Make history fast to query: feature drift over time, across every project in a company
- Work directly with the CLI team on the contract between local analysis and the backend
What we’re looking for
- Several years building and operating production backend services
- Strong relational data modelling; you care about migrations that don’t break anyone
- Comfort with webhooks, OAuth apps and third-party API rate limits
- Clear writing. Most of our design work happens in documents
Nice to have
- Experience with graph algorithms or diffing
- You’ve worked on developer tools, or on integrations with Jira, Linear or GitHub
